lagi iseng mampir ke situs orang, eh, nemu petuah-petuah bagus dalam bahasa inggris. bukan ingin membahasnya dari sisi ke-inggris-annya. tapi apa yang kita dapat dari sana. berikut adalah kalimat-kalimat inspiratif dalam bahasa inggris yang diambil dari kisahinspiratif.com.

bagus-bagus ya kalimatnya? cocok buat dorongan kalo lagi butuh semangat.
tapi ada yang unik dari sana. setiap awal dari kalimat-kalimat itu diawali dengan kata don't, ya.. don't. seperti judul aslinya di situs asal. "don't". sejenak saya berpikir (hal yang jarang saya lakukan :p). saya memang tidak tau pasti berapa jumlah kalimat-kalimat inspiratif, dan memang tidak penting untuk menghitungnya saya rasa. namun dari artikel tsb saya mengambil kesimpulan bahwa kita terbiasa menyampaikan anjuran dengan larangan. tidak menempatkan anjuran sebagaimana mestinya. contoh real: lebih sering denger yang mana? ibu-ibu berkata ke anaknya "nak, buanglah sampah pada tempatnya" atau "nak, jangan buang sampah sembarangan".
begitulah manusia, memang lebih nyaman jika melarang. dengan melarang, kita merasa punya kuasa atas orang lain.
